Being a product designer is one of the most rewarding careers I can think of. The feeling of satisfaction that comes from seeing your own well designed product enjoyed by the public is worth every late night and every early morning.
When I'm not being a designer I like to be doing something active. Keeping fit is important in life, but it's also important to enjoy keeping fit! Mountain biking, road cycling, walking, running, and obstacle racing are just a few of the ways I choose to stay healthy.

BDes (Hons) Product DesignThe University of Wolverhampton2010 - 2013In 2013 I graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a 2:1 (hons) in Product Design where I gained competence in a wide variety of design skills; a few of which include: Concept sketching, rendering, design development, model making, computer aided design/visualisation, and technical drawing. I completed a large amount of personal projects in this time, working on every part of the design from ideation and concepts to final prototypes and models. Watch DesignerPeers Hardy (UK)Birmingham, United KingdomJan 2016 - Present (8 years 7 months)Designing gents watches for major high street fashion retailers in the UK is a challenging but enjoyable task. My role involves keeping on top of the latest trends and using these trends to design individual watch collections to suit each clients brief. Each client receives a CAD pack completed using Adobe Illustrator and the latest trend boards which I produce using Adobe Photoshop. By liaising directly with factories in the Far East I can ensure that my designs come in on time and to a high standard of quality.

Cycle & Cycle Accessory DesignerHalfordsRedditch, United KingdomApr 2015 - Dec 2015 (8 months)Boardman, Voodoo, 13, and Carrera are just some of the fantastic ranges of bikes that Halfords produce. It was my job to ensure these ranges stay ahead of the game and are constantly at the forefront of cycle innovation. Working on all aspects of the design process from initial research and conceptual designs to product development and launch allowed me to keep a close watch over projects from start to finish.

I have also been responsible for implementing a technical server where the latest issues of drawings are stored and readily accessible.

Designer (Contract)CNC Routing LTDBelbroughton, United KingdomMar 2014 - Apr 2014 (1 month)My role as a Designer at CNC involved using AutoCAD to produce 2D drawings and nests ready to be cut on the machines. Also, when necessary, using Adobe Illustrator to produce unique artwork that enhances a customer's project. Designing and redesigning products to be assembled in a CNC, flatpack, friendly way was also a big part of this position.

Industrial Designer (Contract)Mondelez InternationalBirmingham, United KingdomOct 2013 - Jan 2014 (3 months)Working as part of the Global Chocolate RD&Q team at Mondelēz, I was tasked with designing the shapes and moulds of chocolate for big named brands such as Cadbury's and Milka. Managing projects from concept through to final 3D printed prototype meant that I had to be highly creative and organised.

Applications Designer (Contract)HandicareKingswinford, United KingdomJul 2013 - Oct 2013 (3 months)At Handicare I designed stair lift layouts for each customer's unique staircase. Using SolidWorks meant that I could produce 3D models to simulate the rail going up the stairs and therefore enabled me to make sure that the stair lift was a perfect fit every time.
