My name is Cecelia Elise Young, 18. I am currently Studying Graphic and Fine Arts at Briarcliffe college. I plan to relocate to New York City in the near future in order to further pursue my dreams and goals when it comes to the arts. I enjoy working with all mediums; both wet and dry (charcoals, digital, ink, paints (acrylic, oil, and water color), graphite, my favorite paper to work on is Newsprint (18x24). I would define my work as stylized, and classic when it comes to contemporary fine art and illustration.
My primary dream is to use my work in order to make an impact on others (which of course is art's primary function, to stir or provoke emotion), and to possibly become and educator in said field. Whenever I am working on a piece (whether it be spontaneous or planned), art is a way of communicating to others on an emotional and social level, minus the words. I am inspired by early to late renaissance art for the Catholic Church, El Greco, Freida Kahlo, John Singer Sargent, Sister Mary Corita Kent, Yoko Ono, Picasso, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, and others.
