The Non Linear Solutions Unit focus on the development of a conceptual methodology that respond creatively to the complexity of today’s cities: a polyhedral lens to approach multidisciplinary projects.
The interdisciplinary lab NSU, inherits its design methodology from cognitive science and particularly from John Holland’s work in the field of complex adaptive system. The combinatorial method has permitted NSU to work on concrete case studies in collaboration with other research labs and professional firms developing several interdisciplinary projects such as Formal Modulation for Acoustic Performance developed with the Cresson Laboratoire France (research selected best paper by American Research Centers Consortium), Robustness in Power Network Grids developed with the Santa Fe Institute.
Since 2005 Caterina Tiazzoldi has been lecturing as visiting professor in several university and schools:
Columbia University New York, Politecnico di Torino, Istituto Europeo di Design Torino, Domus Accademy Milano.

2004 – 2008 Part Time Senior Retail Architect for the for the fashion brands GB Sportelli and Catherine Klee, Torino, Italy focused on the development of two new spatial concepts for the brands GB Sportelli and Catherine Klee: Program development, conceptualizing and defining design guidelines, ideation, communication of ideas, design development, budgeting and setting time–lines, preparation of comprehensive construction documents (including coordination of production teams and external consulting), value engineering, field oversight and construction administration. 30 units realized
