I consider myself a modernist and a rationalist and I have learned through experimentation that the only way to create beautiful architecture is with extensive knowledge, exploration and exploitation of construction systems. I aspire to develop a distinguished career in the field of Architecture by designing modes and processes of social change through community development. I maintain the perspective of an artist and strive to make beautiful spaces that solve specific problems and do so with the intention of improving the world for many people. Building a house I designed as well as reflecting on my education through teaching and volunteering as a member of local and regional planning commissions has shown me how and where architects can contribute. We need more architects in government, we need better representation.
Appreciating the importance of beautiful and functional things as the reflection of society’s ideals I continually aim to hone my skills and knowledge of design & technology to create timeless pieces. Partnering with my father and working with multiple specialists over the course of three years gave me a unique opportunity to learn from building in a significant and in-depth way.
