I first experienced graphic design in 2005 during a Commercial Arts class my junior year of high school. We created a mock business and designed everything from a logo to all the stationary needed for a business. After graduating high school, I attended Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming where I received my Associate of Arts in Graphic Design. While there I was able to excel in the Adobe Suite programs as well as the art of typography, elements of design, and layout design.
That following summer I obtained a job as a Graphic Designer at Gillette Printing & Engraving in Gillette, Wyoming. During my time there, I was able to gain the knowledge of working with the public one on one as well as through phone and email. My communication skills were able to flourish while at the print shop to be sure to give the client exactly what they were looking for in a design. I also had some experience in the engraving and vinyl departments creating customized wine glasses, various promotional products, banners, decals, etc.
As I transitioned to Journey Church as an Administrative Assistant, I was able to continue designing in addition to performing office duties. I created various slides, bulletins, as well as miscellaneous projects for Vacation Bible School, Ladies Dinners, and various holidays. Most of my communication for designing was through phone, email and social media.
