iPad Stand - Designed in conjunction with IDA, we created an iPAd stand that doubles as a carrying case. The integrated side speakers provide a robust, portable theater system. Modeled in Solidworks, rendered in Maya with Mental Ray.

On-Camera Flash Reflector System - An on-camera portable studio lighting system for SLR cameras. The Flekt uses the cameras own flash to create unique and creative lighting effects by changing out the insert cards.
On-Camera Flash Reflector System - An on-camera portable studio lighting system for SLR cameras. The Flekt uses the cameras own flash to create unique and creative lighting effects by changing out the insert cards.
The model of the Flekt system was done in Solidworks and rendered in Modo. The scene was carefully aligned over a stock photo of a Nikon D300 with final color correcting and compositing in Photoshop.

Aerovironment Cordset - With the team at IDA, we were approached by Aerovironment to create an in-car, portable charging solution for your all-electric vehicle. The cordset had to convey the AV brand language, as well as provide various cord management solutions within a small envelope.
Original photo was taken in-studio by myself, the wrapped power cord was then added later in Modo and fully composited in Photoshop.

Inbrella- IDA for American Inventor - This is the final design for the Inbrella concept by Sheryl McDonald as seen on ABC's American Inventor, season 1.
Inbrella mechanicals 2 - To further prove our concept before it was machined, a model was built and assembled in Solidworks. Parts were then assigned constraints and links. As the grip collar is moved up, the spars move in sync, opening the Inbrella.
Alesis Speaker - 3D rendering created for tradeshow. The product had be photographed before the catalog went to print and banners went up for a trade show. But a prototype had yet to be finished and deadlines were looming. They provided us with 3D data from the engineering team and we ported it to Electric Image. The rendering was then styled and matched to the art directors vision of the product line. Lens blur, depth of field and film grain were added in post as they predated in-software features at the time.

Hot Spring Portable Spa design. A division of Watkins Manufacturing in San Diego - Hot tub illustration using 2D vector and raster element renders combined and arranged in Photoshop. After several designs were approved, we decided this top view is what Hot Spring could more easily visualized being presented in catalogs and web marketing. Elements could also be shifted and changed much quicker than in a 3D model.
Premios De La Radio 2006 - Trophy design for a media company catering to the Latin community. The goal of this design was to invoke a sense of classic radios, tube microphones, and streamline modern architecture. The trophy design was introduced at the award ceremony in November 2006 at the Gibson Amphitheater, and is currently the official design. Designed in conjunction with "3D Mass" in Glendale.
Inbrella- IDA for American Inventor - Color studies for possible material and finish combinations for the Inbrella concept.
Dacor product range - While at Blue Design in Pasadena, team efforts were put forth in the industrial and graphic design for a wide range of product for Dacor. My involvement included study of proportion and component layout, design of knobs, creating screened and interface graphics, and the exploration of new product categories.
Products included full size ranges, cook-tops, warming drawers, refrigerators and dishwashers among others. Shown is a small sample of what I worked on.
