ROCC is a growing non-profit advocating for the restoration of Humboldt Parkway, with over 20 professional partnerships and 2,000 supporters. Beginning as a volunteer, I was appointed a member of the “I Remember” marketing committee during my second year. We have expanded our mission beyond Hamlin Park to accommodate a citywide audience.
As part of the “I Remember” campaign, I have used archival photos and articles to enhance the narrative of Humboldt Parkway.
With no company logo and no social media presence, I took on the secondary role as ROCC’s graphic designer and web specialist. In addition to managing the official website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, my emphasis on the cultural theme has established the company’s visual persona.
In order to broaden the ROCC audience, I co-hosted guest lectures at Tapestry and Health & Sciences Charter Schools. While the mission centers on residents who remember the original Humboldt Parkway, the “I Remember” campaign is also inviting the next generation to be part of the conversation.
ROCC became the 2016 recipient of the William Dorshemier Community Partner Award.
