Dream² - 2003
Performance presented at the Vauvert Festival
With Dream², I tried to assert the idea of entrapment and the struggle to escapes one’s own barriers. It is a performance about self protection, and the isolation that comes with it. The character is partially hiding his nudity inside of his translucent wrap. The wrap is like a pillow cover, made of a highly reflective stretch micro-net, having 2 sides stiffened by poles, attached to the hands and feet. As the character moves, and struggles in vain to escape, the elasticity of the cover, and the unbend-ability of the poles interacts with his body, creating ephemeral volumes, abstract evocations of the human body.
The performance was awarded by the jury of the festival.
