Anna Mae Tollefson

My first name is “Anna Mae” (like anime) and my middle name is Marie, so my initials are AMT however you look at it. This confuses lots of people (and companies). Please do NOT call me Anna or spell my name “anime”. The space in my name IS optional.

I come from Beltrami, MN, a town with a population of 101. I was homeschooled, but swam under the Crookston School District for six years before graduating high school. Being the youngest of four children, I have often had to entertain myself while being dragged along to my sibling’s activities. I read, drew, imagined parts of my own stories, and listened to music.

I didn’t know what I wanted to go to college for, so, after talking to some mentors, I choose to take my love of drawing and come to BSU for the Art Major. I had taken some of the intro design courses because I thought they would help my Art Major. Well, I found out I really liked design, (it is easier to fix mistakes on a computer then on paper) and the art classes helped my designs. I then decided to change majors to the new Art and Design Major though I am still retaining a Minor in Art. I focused on print design early in my time at BSU and liked it a lot. But I have had to take a lot of 3D and exhibit courses as requirements to graduate. I don't mind building objects in 3D software.
