WAI Design Lab is a blog written by enthusiastic young architect. This blog basically is an online portfolio for the writer. The design lab also means that this blog is a platform for the writer to write crazy, out of the box, rebellious idea. Writer believe that an idea shouldn’t be restricted, though it should be wild.
Writer has a strong objection about how architect practice nowadays, as what writer learn from school architect should not only serve a rich clients or developers instead architecture should be for everyone.
Andy Gunawan graduated from Architecture Department Parahyangan Catholic University on 2014 with his final work of Cipadung Greenschool which got an Honorable Mention from SAA Awards XXI and won the Thrid Prize of International Tropical Architecture Design Competition 2013 at Singapore held by Building and Construction Authority, Singapore Institute of Architect and Singapore Building Council.
Writer also has been studying about bamboo since the second year at university. As result of studying bamboo from the second year, writer wrote an essay about Analysis Bamboo Application on Structure and Construction of Restaurant “KEDAI RUMAH POHON”, Yogyakarta.
Writer currently working in commercial office based in Singapore and Bandung. Through his free time, writer decided to do experiment with problems he find in the city. (Visit CityIntervention )
