Alexa Van Dike is a Fine Art Major at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. Before the Academy, she attended Hoffman Estates High School for 4 years, and Emilia Plater Polish School for 11. Growing up, she always loved to draw. She loved to read, but even more, she loved to look at the expressive images that illustrated stories. Alexa was mesmerized by how images could transform children’s books into plays that danced around in her head. Her love for story telling grew stronger, and her hand could never put down her pencil. What used to be a pencil is now a paintbrush. Alexa studies the colorful strokes that once made her smile and made her dream. She specializes in oil painting, but loves all paint. She plans on joining the Illustration field as well as working for a few galleries in her future.
