Order Engineer Specialist

Jun 2016 - Sep 2018 (2 years 3 months)
For about my first year working at Dunbarton I worked in the customer service department of the company. I have been working with customers by email and I've been doing order entry from the orders that come in. This part of the job has helped me build a deep understanding of the company's products. Working with customer service wasn't my strong suit nor was I using any of my skills from school. I wasn't very satisfied with what I was doing. After that year I've was moved to the Engineering Department where I am able to use more of my CAD / Drafting / 3D Modeling skills. I now model doors and door frames using Autodesk software like Inventor. I've been building on my portfolio in my free time. I have a good bit of free time.

Auburn Student Designer
Emerson
Auburn, AL
Jan 2015 - May 2015 (4 months)
Sponsored Studio sponsored by Emerson. We were instructed to come up with ways to design vacuum cleaners inside vehicles. The studio was split off to different vehicles. The challenge of this project was working with very limited space inside the vehicle and limited direction from Emerson. Through lots of extensive research, and visiting car dealerships to further study our chosen vehicle lead to our end result. The end result was up to Emerson as to which vacuum cleaner model they enjoyed more. The final presentation was delivered in a CAD model rendered by Keyshot.

Sponsored Design Studio at Auburn University. We were sponsored by Big Time Products to design working gloves for sports, police, and oil rig. Upon doing research on what is desired for a glove, we came up with designs that would be an improvement to the gloves that already exist out there today. The end result of the studio is that we delivered concept sketches of possible glove designs they could use.

Auburn Industrial Design Summer Program
Auburn University
Auburn, AL
May 2013 - Aug 2013 (3 months)
A Summer program for students to able to qualify themselves to be in the Industrial Design Program. In order to qualify to take classes you had to be in the top 45 of enrolled students and have at least a C grade average in the program by the end of the Summer program. The nature of the work was to fit 9 months worth of work into a 3 month summer semester. Each month we worked on a different lesson. First month was Technical Drawing, second was Perspective Drawing, and lastly Rendering by hand. Every drawing was graded on quality. The better the quality, the better the grade. Some of the drawings assigned to us had us working over night just to finish for class the next morning.
So many people dropped that first week of Summer OP after they had the taste of two all night projects. I'd like to think the program weeds out the weak people, and the ones who make it deserve their seat in the program. It was my greatest challenge making through the program and makes me proud of the skills I took from it.
