The assignment was to create a 3-D wooden form that demonstrates the hierarchical arrangement of planar surfaces, combined with angles, in a visually balanced composition. Using only a single wood plank that is 3/4" thick, 8" wide, and 96" long. The wood is cut into 4 boards and supports 5 books. The slots cut for the books are cut specifically for that book.
