Abraham Blancas is an illustration major at the American Academy of Art. At the age of 6 he began his path to becoming an illustrator. The influence of comic books and graphic storytelling left a lifelong impact on him as a child; music, film and television gave him more draw from. With a wide assortment of media and stylistic options under his belt, Abraham is able to create a piece with it’s own sense of identity. Having knowledge of both traditional and digital media broadens his range as both can be used in tandem to achieve various goals.During his creative process, Abraham explores the subject by sketching it and visualizing the final piece. Capturing the moment of an emotion or of an idea all play within his work as the journey of creation is what is most important, not just the end result. Graduating in the Spring of 2018, Abraham hopes to find work as an artist alongside writers and creatives in the graphic novel industry.
