I offer artistic vision, creativity, strategy, and passion, with an understanding of visual design theory and project management. I guide projects from concept to finished product using traditional and digital design. My years in college taught me, among other things, critical thinking communication, and how to apply these to serve businesses. At my current position, although primarily sales, I have re-worked their logo and designed their presentation folder.
I was first introduced to art by my mother. She showed me a drawing of Curious George and then drew a police officer right in front of me! I was smitten after that. I started my journey by drawing my favorite Nintendo characters from magazines. I drew from imagination with ease. In high school I gravitated toward graphic design with the promise that my work would help people and companies express their vision.
I attended Thomas Edison High School’s graphic design program, which instilled the technical aspect of graphic design and allowed me to get my hands dirty with real projects. At Rasmussen College, I was introduced to drawing tablets and the power of Adobe. I stayed up late night putting together pieces for fun.
My first employment industry was in hospitality. Initially at a movie theater, where I became comfortable in face-to-face interactions with customers. Next, I worked at two (2) different restaurants at once; as a server and a hostess respectively. Such trained me in effective time management.
I gathered what I learned from these positions and brought the knowledge and expertise gained into my third position as a sales representative. In this role, I was able to dig deeper in the respect that I became comfortable presenting ideas to customers and asking questions that led to results. Additionally, employed in graphic design gigs during the time between positions. I believe that attending Rasmussen College and the graphic design gigs served to create better experiences. I had the ammunition and confidence to probe for answers.
In my professional and personal life, I am known as being kind. My belief is that if people are to be judged at all, they should only be judged by their character. During my free time I am either working on learning something new, creating art, or watching animations.
