About
During my time as a professor at the Suzhou Art and Design Technology Institute, my main academic focus was on interior design and theory. My passion for these areas of study was reflected in a broad range of design practices, including museum exhibition design and the application of Suzhou's traditional elements in modern design. I conducted approved research projects on topics such as interior design history in the context of social life, regional culture and interior design, and museum exhibition design methods.
As a studio program supervisor, I incorporated my extensive design and research experience into my teaching approach. I encouraged my students to adopt a rigorous design methodology and to consider cultural context in their work. I firmly believe that exposure to different cultures can inspire new ideas, and therefore, I encouraged students to participate in academic visits or design organizations in other countries.
Overall, my academic interests and teaching approach were shaped by my passion for interior design and theory, and my belief in the importance of cultural context in design. -
