Development of 3D VR for Medical Education
This project was a collaborative interdisciplinary research project that aimed to design a training simulation for medical and nursing students (Orientation for residents prior to rotating in new environments). Goal of our collaboration was to create a USEFUL training tool which provides a realistic environment, which is easily available, for a moderate cost. Recent advances in Virtual Reality allow us to develop this educational environment. After the performing the user research phase and design phase which resulted in replicated onsite operation room, we evaluated the training simulator in actual environment and recruiting surgeons and residents as evaluators.
