The unique process of rotomolding, as well as the form requirements necessary for manufacturing in this manner, provided much of the inspiration and direction for this piece.
The stool’s minimal construction and distinct shape accounts for ease of part removal through overall draft, as well as simplicity of production, creating an item with a very short timeline from factory to retail shelf. They are modular and can be placed side by side for a bench application, or one on top of the other to form a taller bar stool.
The product is a 12lb part, with an approximated mold cost of $30,000, and part cost of $35.
