Hospitality Design // Hotel M

Hotel M is a boutique hotel locating in Montreal, a multi-cultural city. Design for world travelers, who always look for fresh and in-depth experiences. Hotel M expresses different aspects of Montreal, including geographic, cultural information, and local artworks. The purpose is to create an intriguing spatial experience by mixing various forms, materials and colors, and still keep all elements in harmony.
The public space of Hotel M is visually divided into vertical and horizontal languages, which express in ceiling and floor patterns, architectural elements and layouts. Use circles to show where two languages mix together, and create circular lounge seating resonating with floor and ceiling patterns. The main features of the lobby are two grand stairs with lounge seating, both below and on the extending stair landings, which create various visual experiences in different heights.
