Oscar - INSITU Chair Show Project
Urban Seating project designed for a historic venue in downtown Toronto. This group project focused on the artistic elements of traditional design with a modern twist. The Chair featured an extremely relaxed posture with materials and design elements that echoed art nouveau from the turn of the 20th century. The venue was St. Lawrence market and we had to make sure that chairs could be put away neatly. For this challenge we designed the furniture to nest horizontally, much like a shopping cart. The seating was contoured in order for the user to remain comfortable and the arm rests were wide and elegant.
