3D Metamorphosis of a Split Track to a Zipper - The split track and the zipper were selected for this exercise because of their similarities in both form and semantic values.
The laser engraver was used to create the intricate details of each stage of the transformation. Two layers of polyfrost were stuck together and experiments were done with the machine to investigate the optimal settings by which only the first layer will be cut. The top layer was then removed, leaving behind the “track†as seen in the picture above.
