Competitive assessment of two movie website usability: Movietickets.com and Fandango
Summary
47 participants were tested – 25 on Fandango.com, 22 on MovieTickets.com
Time on task: users spent similar time on tasks 1 & 2 on both sites; Fandango users spent significantly less time on Task 3.
Task success: sites are close on tasks 1 & 2; Fandango has significantly higher success rate on task 3.
Overall visual appeal: no significant difference between the sites.
Overall ease of use: Fandango rates better; difference is not significant.
75% of Fandango users would visit site again, compared to 64% of MovieTicket’s users. Chi-square test shows difference is not significant.
