urban design for a business and tourist district on Dongpoisland, Meishan, China - Dongpo island is located between the rapidly growing city and the local famous tourist zone. For the time being, it is still an undeveloped area. There was already a precedent planning for the island with specific control of functions, density indicators, hight limits, etc.
Our main idea is to try to add more diversity to the rigid planning, with dynamic lines and
organic forms . The leading landscape axis,
which is also a green pedestrian way, connects the east tourist zone to the city.
