The chairs are placed against the walls with grass paths on the slope behind the seat.

Most people, through my observations, keep themselves in an intangible safety bubble. Under void decks for instance, if there is at least one person at a table surrounded with seats, others would not take the seats even if they are unoccupied.

An answer to the lack of cohesion between the void decks and the surrounding landscape.
Glass was chosen as it gives a spacious feel. However, one can’t help but feel a lack of security when sitting therefore cement was incorporated with the glass to fulfill that aspect of strength and reliability. Artificial grass, I felt, was a suitable material to use in order to create a sense of relation between the environment and the void deck.

In the design, strips of grass ‘paths’ are arranged so that they intersect each other to form corners which, I believe, are comfort zones. It will be at these corners whereby the furniture will be placed.
Moreover, the green paths also create a sense of cohesion within the space.
Curbs separate void decks from the surroundings. In my design, a grass-covered slope now replaces the curb as it provides more convenience to the wheel chair bound.
