A great opportunity to design a venue with inspiration from two iconic establishments, which are perennial in the books of architecture, design and music.
Architecturally speaking, I have always been attracted to the brilliant design of The Factory Records Offices, and The Hacienda, which use everyday common materials, yuxtaposed with other elements which work well.
We set out to design a large bar area, a stage, and a mezzanine, in an open air venue.
Brick, brute concrete, reclaimed wood and Cor-ten Steel are the material palette we chose to mix, to keep this minimalist concept.
