Hugo Folding Cane - I developed a package die line that eliminated the need for additional printed collateral. It was merchandised inside a clear plastic case.
Retail Packaging - A snapshot of various projects that capture just some of the retail packaging I have been involved in – from die line development to final mechanical. Some were solo efforts, others were produced as part of a team. In all cases, good communication, attention to detail and solid design/production skills were essential. A solid knowledge of printing processes and how they affect design was also critical.
Dex4 Naturals - The Dex4 Naturals sub-brand was designed to retain key elements of the Dex4 brand, yet stand out as different from the standard product line. Emphasis was given to the key benefit of the new line. Both lines would exist together on a retail shelf.
Rugby Syringes Redesign - Package design and mechanical production
HUGO Rolling Walker - The Hugo line of products reinvented how durable medical equipment was packaged at retail. It spawned many imitators. Extensive Photoshop and mechanical production skills were crucial to each project. I worked with executive management, brand managers, designers, photographers, production artists, overseas printers and others to ensure the success of each project.
KROGER Brand Extension - As new products were added to the Kroger diabetes category, I developed the packaging according to established brand standards. The packaging was printed in the US, Canada, China and Switzerland, so the mechanicals had to be rock-solid to ensure quality and brand integrity.
RadioShack Air Bud - Example of production and photoshop/illustrator expertise. A solid knowledge of printing was required for this job to print correctly.
Walmart Project - Example of both package production, design and project management savvy. Managed a multi-sku packaging project for Walmart for several years in a row. Involved working with printers in China, executives at Walmart (USA and China), internal marketing staff, directing product photoshoots, mechanical layout/production and even some copywriting. The ability to wear many hats was critical. Extensive photoshop and illustrator skills also needed.
