The Protean bathroom faucet combines modern technology with hair care to create a better experience for people in the black community who are “sink washers”. These people rinse/wash their hair in the sink for many reasons, the main one being that it’s less time consuming than taking a shower. The issue with caring for hair in the bathroom sink is that most bathroom faucets are too low to comfortably fit your head underneath. This new faucet’s height is adjustable to the user’s preference, and can also be programmed to have certain modes. Example modes would be hands, hair cold, or hair warm. The user can set what temperature they want each mode to be, and the faucet will release water at that temperature every time. The mode names can also be customized through a phone.
Because of these different modes, there won’t be any water wasted while trying to find the right temperature. The user can have a repeatable and pleasant cleaning/rinsing experience.
