The video shows the 3D printed prosthetic hand being tested by the recepient. This
is project was done as part of my master's thesis for my M.A. degree in Industrial Design at the Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Applied Arts in Belgrade, Serbia.
This project started with finding the specific recipient on which the entire design will be based. In this case it was a complete amputation of all fingers of the hand, leaving behind a whole palm and a functioning wrist.
The next step was making a plaster cast of the recepient's stump for the purposes of 3D scanning and clay modelling.
3D scanned file that was used as a base for the final 3D model.
The clay sketch model was done directly on the plaster cast.
Several variations of the design. The openings were added to aid airflow and reduce sweat buildup.
The final clay model
The final design was then modeled in Solidworks and rendered in Keyshot for the recepients approval.
