Xylitol the Good Sugar
Concept:
This edition of Hygientown magazine was all about xylitol, with a feature on a continuing education course called “Xylitol, the Good Sugar” by Trisha O’hehir. Xylitol is a type of sugar that helps to fight periodontal disease and is an often overlooked item in a dentist’s arsenal. It is this aspect of xylitol that the Creative Director and I wanted to emphasize in the illustration that would be featured on the cover of this month’s magazine.
Execution:
I used reference materials from a variety of sources to ensure that the details of the dental instruments and candy would be accurate. This piece was created in Photoshop 5.5 with a Wacom Intuos5 tablet.
