Stress Analysis on Pipe intersections using DKQ and Drilling degree of freedom elements (FEA)
The project deals with analysis of shear stress distribution for a pipe intersection (modeled to an eight using symmetry boundary conditions). The system is modeled using both Discrete Kirchhoff and Drilling Degree of freedom elements for bending and inn plane deformation. The pipe is subjected to a vertical pressure and the stress distributions are obtained at various surfaces. The results are compared to those of ABAQUS'.
