The thing in the middle of the bike that looks like a scorpion tail is the cam system that while flexing will compress the shaft dampener on the down tube. The "scorpion tail" piece can be switched between multiple attachments for desired dampener settings based on riding preferences and styles. For jumpers, it can be resistant at the beginning to resist pedal absorption and soft past a certain point of travel to soften landings. Or for traditional riders it can have an increasing resistance all the way through the travel, or for older riders even very soft early on with increasing resistance as it compresses. An advanced rider would be able to pick a standard style for their riding or design their own custom Cam attachment and order it. Instead of ordering a famous jersey, you could order Greg Minnaar's personalized Bike experience.
