Waubonsee Community College Exterior Wayfinding
Waubonsee Community College’s main campus is situated on 243 acres near Sugar Grove, Illinois. The college serves more than 12,000 students each semester.
Vick Moore designed a new, comprehensive exterior wayfinding program for the college that included vehicular and pedestrian directionals, campus and building identification, campus maps, and signs with campus interpretive information.
To help structure the wayfinding information, the campus was organized into a North Side and South Side. Each side was assigned a color, and to help focus sign messages, priority destinations were established. The vehicular directionals have changeable message slats and also include removable, temporary message panels that can be easily added to the signs on an as-needed basis to provide wayfinding for campus events.
