International Terminal D at DFW International Airport has 2 million square feet, 23 gates, and a smart parking garage that can accommodate over 8,000 cars.
Vick Moore was the designer and wayfinding signage project manager for the Terminal D Garage. Work included design and implementation of vehicular directionals, pedestrian directionals, floor theme graphics, and information directories.
To support the garage’s space counting system, the vehicular signs included dynamic displays to provide parkers information about the number of spaces available on each floor.
To help visitors remember where they parked, each floor was assigned a Texas wildflower and a corresponding color. Graphics were developed for each flower and incorporated into pedestrian signs, directories, and floor reminder tags.
