Modular birdhouses suitable for small, North-American east-coast species, dubbed "Birds & Bees", making reference to the hive formation resulting from interlocking and mounting several (hexagonal) units together. Dimensionally, each unit is circumscribed within a 6" circle and is 4" deep. The opening is D1.5" and is recessed 0.5" in order to keep the opening dry. Multiple units can be assembled and in any pattern given the modular tongue and groove system present on all six faces.

OUTDOOR DESIGN: Modular Birdhouses

"The Birds & the Bees" are modular, interconnectable, hexagonal birdhouses.

With six identical tongue-and-groove walls, the birdhouses can be connected and assembled in myriad forms to create a bird hotel. Aimed at small North American birds like swallows, tits and wrens, this design is intended for urban homeowners who appreciate birdsong and flying visitors, but want an evolved version of the little wooden cube with a hole in it.
