CULTURAL DESIGN: Personal Heaters
"T.Cozy" was my exchange assignment with design students at Shanghai University. The goal was for Chinese students to reinterpret classic Canadian designs and we, vice versa.
I rethought and modernized the traditional Chinese "Tangpozi" that uses coal or hot water (in a container held by the user) to radiate heat and stay warm.
My design is a wrist-worn, gel-filled silicone bracelet containing an imbedded piece of flexible metal which, once bent, catalyzes the gel, becoming warm, thus heating the user's circulation via the wrists.
