Mobile app for using the core phone features even when the user can't concentrate on the display

Speech prompts we could use as feedback but speech recognition wasn’t technically available.

We gathered requirements with focus groups among visually impaired people. Preliminary UI concepts were tested with normal-sighted users while they were playing a driving game.

UX design was created in the team of 3 UX experts and a graphical designer created the icons. I created the actual detailed interaction design and specification. The emphasis was on providing simple enough interaction that would be suitable also when there are lots of interruptions and the user has to focus on driving, for example.

Voice Aid application was released as a preloaded application on several Symbian phones like N75, E60, E70 and E71.
