Chew Buoys. Concept, Industrial Design, Project Development, 2012. The Chew Buoy project series grew out of the experience of early dog toy development. Many common complaints about pet toys was the mess from paste treats and the obvious drool. This wobble treat toy looks to solve some of that by keeping the "business end" up and off the floor as much as possible while providing a unique look in the product category with several offerings in both size and shape applications. As the product line would grow the idea was to add to the lineup using both internal and customer feedback to guide new designs. The general overall makeup of the concept wraps an over-mold of either natural rubber and/or HDPE over a weighted core of nylon to provide the durable structure. Several head shapes were planned for kibble/treat dispensing as well as paste treat-grooved heads for dental maintenance.
