Elements of Art
Definition of the Elements of Art: the basic properties of a work of art that may be perceived through the senses.
1. Line- a long, narrow mark or band.
2. Texture- the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or a substance.
3. Space- a continuous area or expanse that is free, available, or unoccupied.
4. Form (3D)- the visible shape or configuration of something.
5. Shape (2D)- the external form or appearance characteristic of someone or something; the outline of an area or figure.
6. Value (B+W)- the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.
7. Color (Hue)- the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light.
