Rowing Boardcomputer - While rowing one of the biggest problems is looking backward in the direction you are going. On this waterproof device you can choose to see yourself or the direction you are going with a wireless camera, placeable either on the back facing the water or on the boat facing the rower. With the docking clamp it’s possible to mount your device on any shape of tubing on the boat. Another feature is to record your session and analyze your rowing technique afterwards.
Blackberry Dockingstation - Design a accessory for a blackberry phone. I designed a dockingstation. This dockingstation can be used to charge the phone and it has speakers that enhance the quality and volume of the sound, The slick design fits with the phone so it´s a pleasure to look at even if you would watch movie clips. The speaker can both be used in a landscape mode as in the portrait mode.
Brabantia Vacuum Canisters - For this project we were asked to design a range of product for Brabantia. We designed a range of vacuum canisters that can store different kinds of foods or drinks. This can be either fresh food or food that you want to preserve from the day before. The big button in the middle of the lid can be pressed to pump out the air inside of the canister, vacuum is created this way. Because of the vacuum food can be preserved much longer. The little button can be pulled to release the vacuum.
Holmatro Redesign High Pressure Valve (firefighter equipment) - Ergonomics was the main goal in this project. After a visit at the fire department in Leidschendam-Vuurburg we found out that the hose was not so easy to connect. We redesigned the hose so the both ends have a conical valve. Another problem was that the ends of the hose weren’t the same. This can be problematic for a firefighter. Our idea was to place female-end valve on the both sides of the hose and to place the male-end on the hydraulic pump and the tool.
Voting Device - Design a voting device with an interactive interface in a portable housing This project was split in two parts: The design of the interface and the housing of the voting device. What still a big problem is, is that lot of existing devices are not shielded against any kind of signal or radiation from outside the housing. An easy way to shield the voting device against that sort of signal is use a metal case. On the back of the device is a drawer witch hold all the components.
Gamma Board Trolley - For this project we had to redesign an existing trolley for Gamma. The first problem was mobility, all the existing trolleys are very hard to maneuver. Our solution was to reduce the turning radius by placing the turning circle in the middle of the trolley. Another problem was the fact that you couldn’t take other small products with you during shopping. So we made a basket at the opposite side of the “board carry”. The basket isn’t on the full length of the trolley because of logistic reasons.
Digital Design Techniques (mouse) - For this assignment we had to make a model out of foam, I made a mouse. This model was digitalized by 3d-scanning the model. In a digital form final adjustments were made like placing bosses and edges. Now the 3d-model was complete production simulations where made with Moldflow. After the simulation the mold was made in Solidworks. Finally both upper-, and lower housing where made by double sided milling and 3d-printing.
