THE REMODEL OF CAL POLY POMONA’S SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE BUILDING FOLLOWS A DONATION FROM A CAL POLY ALUM. THIS NEW PROJECT WILL RENOVATE THE EXISTING IDC AND CREATE A NEW ADDITION TO HOUSE STAFF, CREATE CLASS ROOMS AND ADDITIONAL STUDIO SPACE AS WELL AS CREATE COMMON SPACES FOR THE STUDENTS.
THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO CREATE SPACES THAT BRINGS THE OUTDOORS INDOORS AS WELL BRING NATURAL LIGHT AND VENTILATION INTO THE BUILDING, WHILE ALSO CREATING APPEALING OUTDOOR SPACES. SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE BUILDING INCLUDE A STUDENT LOUNGE, ROLL UP DOORS AND A SUNKEN EVENT SPACE FOR EXHIBITS AND LECTURES.
