When the Detroit Zoo was developing the Polk Penguin Conservation Center the entire staff was called on to contribute in different ways.
In addition to building a new Penguin website, I enjoyed the opportunity to design specialized heads-up-display styled motion graphics that are projected onto a giant aquarium window.
The motion graphics are interesting, but the penguins, of course, steal the show. If you have never visited the Penguin Center, make plans to do it right away! The center features an underwater viewing area, as large as an IMAX screen. Here you can see penguins performing natural deep-dive behaviors, which can be seen nowhere else, unless you have plans to do some scuba diving off Antarctica.
