Developing the theme of ‘TRANSPARENCY’, this module focused on Manipulation, Distortion and Radically Altering the natural human silhouette, and redefining the natural contours of the body.
The silhouette is exaggerated, structurally; you could even say there is an essence of armour. Every panel is complete with leather, creating the stiff, structured style. Each piece has the focal point of the high collar, covering the whole of the neck, giving an essence of restriction. Each piece has the theme of layering creating a look of a shell, similar to armour creating the appearance of protectiveness. The shape of each garment distorts the body in an adventurous but appealing way. Within the collection there is a signature look of transparency, collectively they all reveal sections of flesh in an appealing way. The colours used are inspired from coral reef photographed from the natural history museum, Cardiff. The colours work perfectly together, oozing passion and warmth.
