This project was unique....the first mobile theatre in Hungary. Working alongside Békéscsaba Jokai Szinhaz (Theatre) Director, Peter Fekete, we designed the 650 seat auditorium inside a 30m quad mast circus tent imported from Italy. I designed the staging system around the masts and to allow backstage areas I redesigned the support masts to a triangular shape. Next we adapted existing seating structure and fabricated new seats. In went a new intelligent lighting system and then.....the set design of Aida. This had to be greatly simplified due to the nature of the venue but we created multiple levels and the pyramid came from following the contours of the newly designed masts. The stage was fabricated from a truck trailer with the ability to drive the truck in and down come the sides....and a revolve. The entire structure packs up into 2 arctics and has toured Hungary with various productions...some of which I've designed and are in this portfolio area.
