Spyder - (From the series of irrational childhood fears)
Getting underneath your psyche
With needles and pins.
They say, Spyder come back soon again.

The Beast - (from the series of the many faces of Satan)
John saw the beast “rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns.
I thought it would be fun to do a less serious one for the series. Never said what the heads were. ;)
This is a crappy iPhone photo taken on the bus.

The Serpent - (from the series of the many faces of Satan)

Baphomet - As Above, So Below. (from the series of the many faces of Satan)
This is the first completed drawing from my series exploring Satan. My 3-year old son got a hold of a 70% marker and drew all over this. I got rid of most of it, but the lower right corner was killed, thus the chunky white sloppy mess of type. Oh well.

"O is for Ostrich"

K is for Kiwi (Fuck off you’d be pissed too if you were a bird without wings)

Toucan on the Bus
I've frequently thought about making an ABC book. This would be T.

Peacock (unfinished)
P is for Peacock. He's a jerk.

My rhinoceros doesn't like you.

Pencil Test Dragon

Dragon #3

Annihilation of the Spirit - I recently decided to give up. That I had nothing left. Disappointment after disappointment. Oh well... it was a good ride while it lasted, eh? And then this came out... Guess I'm not done after all.
Release me
The sun is setting strange tonight
When do you think
We'll get it right

Bad Bunny - You know... for luck.

13 Coolidge. Another tree taken down on our block.

I am the stallion, mang.

33 Coolidge.
I decided that every time one of my neighbors cuts down a tree, I'd draw one to replace it.

The Goatsheadman. How dare you insult the honor of the Queen of Goats.
- things don't turn out well for the Goatsheadman.

Untitled Evil - I have no idea where these come from... I just make 'em.

Annihilation of the Spirit (Pt. 2) - This one goes with the other one... I should say more

An Octopus for Marshall

Game of Flies - When you're a fly and you cut someone's head off... you still have 2 hands left for rude celebratory gestures.
Dragon #2

Owl is a Star - "I told you... one day I'd make you a star."

untitled

Foreboding - Surviving doesn't always mean that you are safe. Sometimes beneath the current lies a monster... waiting.

Ah shit! We done gone upset dem robots again - My muse (the bus) thought it was time for a new robot.

Blackbird - My dear friend wrote a wonderful children's book about accepting people's differences. He asked me to explore illustrating it. This is my first attempt.

Magpie - This goes with the other bird... same spread. I had a tough time with the white feathers... but I think they turned out OK.

Colleen (From the Collection of Cautionary Tales) - Remember Colleen,
The homecoming queen?
She was once a small town treasure.
Well…
She's hooked on Meth,
Looking like death.
And now can no longer feel pleasure.

Repent (From the Collection of Cautionary Tales) - Take a look now,
At this broken down ape.
He was in prison,
For murder and rape.
And now on the corner,
Of Broad and of Vine.
Standing all day,
With a store's closing sign.
Has he repented
For the things that he did?
Or is he just lecherously
Sizing up kids?

Ginny (From the Collection of Cautionary Tales) - Ginny, Ginny,
Oh so skinny.
However did you figure?
Every time,
You should dine.
That you should pull the trigger.
If you must question.
My obsession.
You will find me sitty.
With fingered tounge
'Til up it come.
"Because it makes me pretty."

Martin - (From the Collection of Cautionary Tales)
What happened to Martin
the pharmaceutical charlatan
and the tape he threatened to erase?
Well, he ended up dead.*
For the things that he said
to the man with a ghost for a face.
* Could be figurative, as in a media whore that no one cared about any more, or could be literal, time will tell.

Internet Flood - Recently my friend's boss asked me how much it would cost for me to draw my interpretation of the internet for his office. I told him that I would draw first and then let him decide if he wanted to buy it, that way I would feel free to make whatever I wanted. This is what came out. (He didn't want it.) The drawing was done on the bus. The images were all found on the web and assembled in photoshop. It's all not what you think... you dirty monkey.

My Manta Ray is Alright - I think It would be nice to have a Manta Ray that swims through the body to destroy germs. This one's mine.

Fishing in a Koi Pond

Self Portrait with Crows

Housing Crisis - I'd love to say that this is a social statement about the economy... but it's more about how difficult life at home can be.

Don't Sit Here. Don't Sit Here. Don't Sit Here. - I get this at least twice a day... oh well.
Kind of a follow up to the "Just Because You Draw on the Bus..." drawing

Swims with the Fishes - for kathleen - This was done by request for a woman who found me via Coroflot... she asked me to make a self portrait. I added the fish.

Satyr - In Greek mythology the satyrs are deities of the woods and mountains. They are half human and half beast; they usually have a goat's tail, flanks and hooves. While the upper part of the body is that of a human, they also have the horns of a goat. They are the companions of Dionysus, the god of wine, and they spent their time drinking, dancing, and chasing nymphs.

Siren - In Greek mythology, the Sirens are creatures with the head of a female and the body of a bird. They lived on an island (Sirenum scopuli; three small rocky islands) and with the irresistible charm of their song they lured mariners to their destruction on the rocks surrounding their island (Virgil V, 846; Ovid XIV, 88).

Lamia - According to legend, she was a Libyan queen who fell in love with Zeus. Zeus' jealous wife Hera deformed her into a monsterous snake-like creature and murdered their offspring. She also made Lamia unable to close her eyes, so that she couldn't find any rest from the obsessing image of her dead children. Lamia envied the other mothers and took her vengeance by stealing their children and devouring them.

TH on the Bus - Self Portrait - Without Nose because the damn thing never works anyway.

a kissed out red floatboat - Feeling a bit nostalgic this morning. To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the Bus Drawings Project, I decided to dig up the very first one (that was coherent anyway) and post it. Oh and... check out the birth of the spirals. Drawn to the Cocteau Twins song of the same name on repeat.
