Leaf metal paintings on trash metal and finnish waste wood.
Works has been inspired by 6 months old daughter and the glam of everyday life at home in a little village between two lakes in Finland. Time for the paintings has been found during baby´s sleeps.
Thoughts of everyday life, maternity, fairytales and illustrators imagines has flewn glittery silver and gold on to the surface of rusty metal and smooth surface of wood. Glam from baby life inspired Taru to use gold and silver leaf metal as a paint. Figures in a rusty old waste metal and beautiful heart of the wood told their stories as the gnomes and bambis came out from the paintings.
Taru has education for footwear and graphic design and she has worked with footwear at finnish brands.
At the moment she´s on maternity leave and works as a freelance illustrator. She has passion for shoes, illustration and childrens fairytales.
