Planmed Verity (Imaging system)

Planmed Verity was the world's first mobile 3D extremity scanner and it launched a new type of product category. It was a huge undertaking for a company previously known for mammography units. The design of the unit is driven by the question: ”What if the imaging system adapts to the patient and not the other way around?”. Verity enables acquiring high-quality images in a natural weight-bearing position.

The welcoming and gentle design is complemented with the all-in-one workflow, designed to maximize the radiographer’s soothing presence for the patient.

Verity was developed by an in-house product development team. I played an integral part in the initial product concept development with user-centered design methods (such as observations, interviews, storyboarding, mock-ups, and usability testing). I was in charge of the user experience (Industrial/UI design) for the final product. The system was launched in 2012 and has been continuously improved ever since.
