wife: "From next week i have to work from home and need my desk. I don´t want to clear up your mess every day, so please work somewhere else."
me: "Ok. But where?"
wife: "No idea... "
me: "What about that dark, narrow, 2 sqm-hole next to the sofa we never cared about?"
wife: "Fits!"

820mm wide, 1200 mm deep, angled walls everywhere. At least you can´t fall of the chair if you fall asleep...
me: "But what kind of desk fits THIS?"
wife: "No idea"
me: "Have to built it. Maybe something from cardboard..."
wife: "I don´t want to see a SINGLE PIECE of cardboard in the living-room!"
me: "Fits for me."

Starting with a dressing table from a onlineshop (Thanks mailmans!). Awfully cheap , the only one measuring 800mm you can look on. And well, fits well! But as aspected 400 mm deepth is challenging for a big laptop, no space left for anything. So lets add some kind of folded-cardboard-davenport...

The blanks + some additional stuff from the hardware onlineshop: lamp, rivets from plastic, elastic, strap from cotton (Thanks mailmans!). And two pieces from the offcuts of the wood shop.

After 1-2 hours, some additional cutting, glueing and fixing.

Hiding the cardboard-brown from the outside with white acrylic paint. The small strip of wood, screwed on to the crossed 4-layer cardboard tabletop, gives a additional touch of "Of-course-no-cardboard-my-dear!". And prevent things from sliding down.

Mounted on the dressing tabel, the cables are hidden on the back and provide some mass to ensure the hatch stays open.

Elastic strap for securing stuff, a stripe of cork for pining, small rack, 150mm of additional deepth. The upper edge is a taped mess and more careing about the the paint job would have been appropriate, but...
