Mali Lighting and Solar Panel Installation

This project was to bring lighting to villages in rural Mali, Africa. This was one of their biggest request and so we listened to what they wanted. We replaced old solar panels at the school and rewired their lighting system. Our group created all of the lead acid batteries and lighting assemblies. I instructed (through a translator) the procedure for obtaining a battery and light.

I coordinated the lighting team which involved instruction and also participating in
-Replacing old solar panels
-Creating new charging stations
-Installing new solar panels and charge controllers
-Testing equipment
-Training charge technician
-Explaining to the villagers to procedure for obtaining lights and batteries.
