Romare Beares was our inspiration for this project. He was an African-American from the 1900s who was involved Harlem Renaissance. In the modernday our Photoshop class had to create their neighborhood/borough using 3 main types of technique. The three techniques are Layer mask (which had to be in the windows with a figure or image behind it). The layer mask works by showing the viewer that is behind the prior image (which is a window). We had to also use the layer styles to change the overlays, color, brightness, etc of the work. The art piece reflects to the neighborhood that I live in because it shows the exact location of my house and the environment that I am around in my neighborhood. My favorite part of this project is the ability to explore my creativity more. Yes I did get to accomplish most of the task’s requirements, however, I still regret not having enough time to do anime picture into all of the windows.
