Split - The ultimate shoe for ultimate players - my degree project in `05. I am a frisbee ultimate player myself and know the problem about finding an appropriate shoe to play frisbee. That was the reason why i chose this theme. Ultimate is a very fast and dynamic game that needs a very durable and high quality shoe. It is important that the shoe supports the player and guarantees top performance. On the side you see additional joints that hold together the upper and the sole. This is the weakest point by other cleats and the point where every cleat get broke. The name of the shoe is derived from the concept of the sole. The forefoot sole is equal to the foot devided in four parts. That allows the player to get better cotrol over his movements. The forces are devolved directly from the foot to the stud and from the stud further to the grass. So you get the best performance during the game.

City Transport Cell - This was a collaborative project in a group of four people for Volkswagen in my 7th semester. The main idea was to create a concept car for the year 2020. We decided to try out a new form language with a completely different interior concept. These thoughts lead us to an additive concept where you can change every part.The height of the car allows the passenger to relax in a half standing position that is supported through the seats that can be fixed in the right height on tubes. It also allows older passangers to get in the car very easily through two doors on both sides. The car holds four people. A flexible interior is therefore necessary. The interior is built on a flexible structure of swinging arms. The seats can be folded to the tubes and swivel away. This system allows various combinations. So you are able to transport a lot of luggage or drive with four persons. The tubes also allow a lot of special features. Laptop tables or bottle holders can be attached easily.

Teamachine - This tea machine was an assignment from vanberlo studios where I was doing my internship for half a year in `03. The assignment contains creating a tea machine for a wellknown tea brand in the Netherlands. I made three proposals connecting to the three types of tea drinkers: a young and fresh, a healthy and a ripe one.The most important part in this project was to create a tealike machine in form and material. It was very important to make a perceiveable difference to the common coffeemachines.

Lex - This was a self-thought project for cassina in `04. The idea was to design a special lounge chair for the high-end market. The form should suggest a completely relaxing position that invites one to sit in and chill out. The seat is like an open hand, opening a lot of space in the front part of the seat. The front is splitted in two halfs. This makes the seat a more man-like seat. The backrest has a very thin upholstering and gets a special flex from the two cutouts on both sides. The angle of the seat is very steeply going down from the front. If you are going to sit in the seat you will stay for a while because it really lets you glide in it. From the side it looks like a bowl with a thin blade following the curveature up as backrest. It gives the massive bowl a contrasting lightness. The armrests build like a curved shield around the body and impart a feeling of warmth and security.

Jouöhr - Jouöhr was a pair project for the design competition of the craftsman company Irniger. The aim of the competition was to think about a new product that uses wood as mainpart and is no table nor a chair. In case of this starting point we decided to design a new idea to storage shoes. The main thought of our concept was to create a furniture that is very easy to built up and creates a funny situation. Instead of a clean unspectacular front you take off your shoes in front of a wall within six holes that are cutout in form of different shoe types. Now the fun starts and you can try out which hole fits your shoe. If you found it just drop it in and the box behind will do the rest. To get your shoes on you can take off the hole Box or just take them out from the side. Jouöhr is your chaos system that keeps you smile benignly.
